新中国成立后,以毛泽东为首的中国共产党人制定了独立自主的和平外交政策,建立起了新型的外交关系格局,为新中国的发展创造了良好的国际环境.在国际局势风云变幻中,新中国始终坚持和平共处五项原则处理国际事务,将原则性与灵活性相结合,维护了国家利益,对中国乃至世界都产生了重要影响.随后邓小平同志继承发展了新中国的外交思想,赋予了独立自主新的涵义,把握时代发展的主流,有所为有所不为,韬光养晦,在发展中求和平,中国外交日益走向成熟,逐渐成为世界外交舞台上成为一支不可忽视的力量.

On New China's Diplomacy Maintaining Independence and Keeping the Initiative in her Own Hands

After New China was founded, Our China Communist, headed by Mao Zedong, laid down the peaceful diplomatic policy which maintained independence and kept the initiative in her own hands. The new pattern of diplomatic relationswas thus established, which had created a favorable international environment for China's development. In the changing international situation,China all long adhered to the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, and upheld the interests of both china and most peace - loving nations throughout the world by using the principles flexibly. Later the policy was carried on and further developed by comrade DengXiaoPing, who advocated seeking peace in development through what we did and what we did not do. China s diplomacy is on the way to maturity, and china is gradually becoming a force not to be ignored on the world diplomatic stage.
