水杉在日本的引种保护及其社会影响

2008年是水杉发现60周年。20世纪40年代在中国发现了植物“活化石”——水杉（Metasequoia glyptostroboides Hu et Cheng），这一重要事件使日本植物学家三木茂（Shigeru Miki）1941年以植物化石为依据发表的水杉新属受到关注并得到实证，同时三木茂、胡先NFEB8、郑万钧3人亦成为活化石单种属——水杉属的共同定名人（Metasequoia Mikiex Hu et Cheng）。1950年水杉被引种到日本，表现出极好的适应性，受到日本政界和广大民众的欢迎和喜爱并得到推广，与此同时对水杉开展了系统的研究，产生了极强的社会效应。本文对日本水杉的引种保护及其社会影响进行了系统阐述。水杉的发现实际上是中、美、日三国科学家之间联动的过程，具有世界意义。文章最后建议在政策允许的范围内加强在水杉研究领域的国际合作。
