罗隐生平事迹辨正——兼与吴在庆先生商榷

吴在庆先生定罗隐大中十二年(858)初赴举,秋经江陵拜见丞相白敏中,《嘲钟陵妓云英》作于咸通九年(868),都是不对的。罗隐大中十三年(859)由南康取解初赴举,途径江陵拜见丞相白敏中,时为严冬。《嘲钟陵妓云英》作于东归途中的咸通十三年(872)。罗隐二十七岁前隐居读书,并改名“横”为“隐”;广明(880)乱中隐居池州九华山六七年;晚年由“吏隐”而入道。吴在庆先生认为罗隐于乾符二年(875)即隐池州,中和元年(881)离开池州入润州,中和四年(884)曾至成都觅举,也是错误的。

Rectification of Luo Yin''''s Life Story: a Discussion with Mr. Wu Zaiqing

It is wrong that Mr. Luo Zaiqing held that Luo Yin sat for the imperial examination in early 858, paid a visit to Bai Minzhong, the prime minister, in the fall of the same year, and wrote Chao Zhongling ji Yunying (A parody response to the whore Yunying) in 868. Actually, Luo Yin started from Nankang, and passed by Xie Chu for the imperial exam. During the travel, when it was the deep winter, he paid a visit to Prime Minister Bai Minzhong, Chao Zzhongling jiYunying was written in 872 on the way back. Luo Yin was bent on reading books like a hermit before 27 of age, and changed his name from Heng to Yin. In 880, he lived in retirement in Jiuhua Mountain in Chi Subprefecture for six to seven years, and was converted to Taoism when he was aged. It is also wrong that Mr. Wu Zaiqing held that Luo Yin lived reclusively in Chi Subprefecture in 875, left Chi Subprefecture for Run Subprefecture in 881 and arrived in Chengdu in 884.
