摘    要:在学习英语的过程中,中国学生面临难以克服的“文化局限”。西方语言学家早就将“语言学习”和“语言习得”区分了开来,认为只有在母语文化环境中才能“习得”语言。中国学生在汉语语境之中,只能“学习”英语,即便付出了艰苦的努力,往往也难以理解英语背后的文化动因以及英语词汇、句子所表达的“情感内涵”,而导致大量“中国式英语”的出现。这种“文化局限”是客观存在的,我们必须认真面对,以此为前提制定更加切实的教学目标,采取最为合适的教学方法。

Abstract:While learning English, Chinese students often encounter the problem of "cultural boundary" that they could not really overcome in the Chinese Cultural Context. Western linguists have distinguished language acquisition from language - learning and demonstrated their different features. It has been proven that the cultural context is the most important factor to decide whether one could "acquire" a language. One could best acquire one's mother tongue in the relevant cultural context. However, Chinese students could only "learn" English, and they often fail in understanding the cultural drive for certain linguistic performance of the English language, fail in mastering the emotional undertone of many English words, phrases and sentences, no matter how hard they have worked. As a result, they often produce a lot of the so - called "Chinese English". By understanding the nature of the cultural problem faced by the Chinese students, we shall adjust our strategy and methodology in helping them to learn English by adopting more appropriate teaching objectives and methods.
