The Problem of Perception and the Aesthetic Politics of Critical Theory: A Study Focusing on Adorno, Deleuze and Agamben

Through the explanations of Kant''s understanding of perception, Adorno, Deleuze and Agamben as important representatives of Critical Theory at different stages have promoted the shift of the study of perception to social reality and presented different approaches to aesthetic politics. The early Critical Theory transcends the perceptual mode of real experience and downplays the transcendental dimension of perception. Adorno uses the non identity experience of the subject and the object to dispel the identity stipulation of Kant''s transcendental principle on perception. The Post Critical Theory returns to the dimension of perception based on social reality. Deleuze expounds Kant''s concept of aesthetic appreciation and emphasizes the creation of perceptual life in reality. The Contemporary Critical Theory focuses on the connection between perception and specific life context. Agamben criticizes Kant and Deleuze''s understanding of perception and thinks about the life''s potential emerging in the rupture of life.
