文学翻译中译者的文化意识与能动性

文学作品往往是一个国家和民族文化的写照和缩影,因此文学翻译在很大程度上讲是文化的翻译,是一种跨文化交际的行为。作为翻译的主体——译者,他所从事的翻译实践活动并非进行简单的语言符号的转换,而是要在两种语言所代表的两种不同文化间进行转换。这就要求译者不仅要有坚实的双语能力,要有敏感的文化意识并充分发挥其主观能动性,根据不同的文化取向采取适当的翻译策略,从而成功地传递原文的信息与意义。

Translator's Cultural Consciousness and Dynamic Role in Literary Translation

Literature is the embodiment of a certain culture, therefore, literary translation is, in its broad sense,cultural translation,a communicative activity between two cultures. Translator,as the subjective operator in translation,does not take on the simple process of interlingual transfer,but acts as a cultural medium in different cultures. Apart from having a solid bilingual ability,a good translator should have cultural consciousness and play a dynamic role in translation practice so as to take proper cultural orientation and translation strategy to deliver the information and meaning of source text successfully.
