李白好大言,在诗中常常表现为有意夸大数目、用巨额数量词进行修饰以及爱用艺术变形的手法,还表现为对雄伟阔大、奇特壮美意象的追求,因而形成其诗豪放飘逸的风格和瑰奇宏阔的美学特征.李白喜好大言主要跟他粗犷豪爽的个性和浪漫的气质密切相关,跟唐人豪迈自信、说话夸饰的社会风气紧密相关,还跟传为宋玉所作<大言赋>、<小言赋>和南朝至唐流行创作<大言诗>、<细言(小言)诗>的影响有关.

On Li Bai's Exaggeration Style

Li Bai liked boasting.In his poems,he intentionally exaggerated numbers and decorated with huge numerals and artistic transmutation.His exaggeration is also reflected in his pursuit of great boldness and vision as well as curious spectacles.All these have endowed his poems with the vigorous and unrestrained style and the elegant and magnificent aesthetic characteristics.Li Bai's inclination to exaggeration has much to do Li Bai's straightforward and unsophisticated character,his romantic temperament and the forthright,confident,boasting social customs in the Tang Dynasty.The influence of the legendary Da Yan Fu,XiaoYan Fu rumouredly authored by Song Yu and Da Yan Shi,Xiao Yanshi created between Nan and Tang Dynasties also contributed to Li Bai's exaggeration style.
