From the perspective of political,economical,social and cultural transformations in China,the paper discusses the necessity of building a harmonious society in China that is experiencing a dramatic social transformation.A quicker economic transformation and a slower political transformation have led to a slow social development,and a somewhat poor social structure without core values and mainstream culture.These problems have negative effects on our society and should be solved in the process of building a harmonious society.
