A Philosophical Rethink on the Motivations of Grammatical Fuzziness

This author begins with a brief summary of the prior study on the origins of linguistic fuzziness,and discusses the defects of classical categorization theory in the application of linguistic categorization;and then he suggests that grammatical categories are fuzzy in light of Rosch’s Prototype Theory and Taylor’s grammar categorization;finally based upon Wittgenstein’s "language games" theory,the author analyses the philosophical motivations of the grammatical fuzziness.
