老子和谐思想的特点及其现实意义

“道法自然”就是按照事物固有的规律自行运动，不需要外界力量的强制，亦即自发和谐、协调。在老子、道家看来，“道”支配着宇宙，即“道”支配着天地、神灵以及人类社会和人的心灵；而“道”内部含有阴阳，阴阳的和谐统一构成宇宙、社会的“一”。“一”就是统一和和谐；阴阳失衡，“一”的平衡就受到了破坏，自然和社会就会出现灾难，因此，“道法自然”、和谐顺性是宇宙发展的规律。“冲气以为和”是老子和谐哲学思想的基本思路；“无为而无不为”是老子和谐思想的重要价值追求。以老子为代表的道家和以孔子为代表的儒家的和谐思想，都是构建和谐社会的文化基因。

Views of Lao Zi on harmony and their practical implications

＂The essence of Tao lies in adherence to natural laws＂, which suggests that the inherent laws should be followed in whatever action so as to avoid external compulsion and achieve harmony and coordination. In the eyes of Lao Zi and other Taoists, Tao controls the universe, including the mortal, immortal, social and psychological worlds. Tao contains Yin and Yang, whose harmony makes the Oneness of the universe. The Oneness is harmonious unity. When Yin and Yang are not in balance, the Oneness will be disrupted resulting in natural or social disasters. Therefore, adherence to natural laws is demanded by the development of the universe. ＂Through the blending of Yin and Yang, a new harmony is created＂; this is the key to understanding the harmony philosophy of Lao Zi. ＂Do nothing yet everything will be done＂; this represents the value pursuit of the harmony view of Lao Zi. The harmony thought held by Taoists with Lao Zi as the representative and by Confucianists with Confucius as the major advocate should be taken as the cultural basis of harmony construction.
