| 摘 要： | 本文以汪榕培教授的《诗经·硕人》英译为切入点,从几个新的角度考察了典籍英译的特点和作用,认为推广型的典籍翻译有利于文化传播,但不利于文化生态平衡:而学术型的典籍翻译有利于文化生态平衡,但不利于文化的广泛传播,即不易于在普罗大眾中传播。因此,本文强调:推广型的典籍翻译可以适度发展,但不应成为主流;从长远看,学术型的典籍翻译更应得到重视和提倡。
