和谐社区是和谐社会的基础。在我国行政体制改革和政府职能转变的背景下开始的新型社区建设，在社区领导体制、管理体制和服务体系等方面已取得一定成果。但从当前运行来看，还存在一些较为突出的问题，会影响和谐社区的构建。本文在总结了社区建设历史经验的基础上，结合社区建设面临的问题，对新型社区的可持续发展进行了深入的思考．
