On Marx and Engels' Concept of Cultural Motivation

Marx and Engels＇concept of cultural motivation,based on historical materialism and materialist dialectics,reflects their basic viewpoint on cultural motivation with regard to the social development.According to them,man is the subject that determines the cultural motivation,human society is the object while social practice is the intermediary.In their concept,as far as social development is concerned,science and technology is the direct force that drives the society,an advanced ideology serves as the ideological motivation,a scientific value system and spiritual belief are important forces,and a cultural education of proletarian nature is a significant guarantee.The cultural motivation works and shows itself in the coordination of economy,politics and some relevant social relations.
