| 摘 要： | 本文就澳大利亚是个多语言国家的产生原因进行了探讨 ,指出多语言既是大量移民的产物 ,又是经济发展的需要。而这种需要又促使政府重视和保护社区语言 ,从而使澳大利亚成为一个多语言国家。

| Abstract: | In this essay the authors analyses and discusses the causes of Australia as a multilingual society. The authors conclude that multilingualism in Australia is the product of immigration and the need of economic development.The economic need leads to the policies and efforts of the Australian government to promote community languages,which has enhanced the status of Australia as a multilingual society |
