| Abstract: | Transitional compound sentences are characterized by meaning reversibility of the sentences involved.These sentences share such experssive functions as emphatic comparison,ingenious transmission of meaning,concluding transformation and creation of flowing rhythm.The revelation of expressive functions serve as a complemet to the level segmentation and componential analysis of compound sentences. |
