The Influence of International Situation on the Evolution of Chinese Education in Singapore After The world war Ⅱ

Singapore proclaimed independence in the year of 1965. Whereas restricted by the international relations and the cold war between the East and the West, the Singapore government adopted a policy that seeked to identify with South east Asia and Malaya while shaking off Chinese influence rapidly. Though Chinese was the mother tongue of the major nationality in Singapore, the state leaders didn't regard Chinese as its official language, and the use value of Chinese went from bad to worse. Since the 1990s, Chinese education has received recognition afresh from the Singapore government. The government has adopted various measures to improve the level of Chinese education, but the prospects for the Chinese education isn't optimistic yet.
