The Scandal of News of the World and Retrospect on Western Idea of Freedom of Press

This article discusses the origin and causality of the phone hacking scandal of U.K tabloid newspaper News of the World,its social and institutional corruption background.Critical review and analysis on the parent company of News of the World,the News Group Newspapers and its real owner Rupert Murdoch were also the main topic of this article.The author argues the used creed of Western idea of freedom of press have been distorted by market competition and moral degeneration in this scandal,which alarm all news professionals should take serious attitude on social responsibility and work ethics.Besides,this article also reviews the current behaviors of Chinese media.
