浅析现代主义倾向在《幸福》中的体现

曼斯菲尔德是20世纪初一位杰出的短篇小说家,受到当时蓬勃发展的现代主义文艺思潮的影响,她借鉴了许多现代主义的写作技巧,从小说题材和写作技巧两方面对短篇小说创作进行大胆创新,推动了现代主义短篇小说的发展和成熟。本文以曼氏的短篇小说《幸福》为例,集中分析了现代主义在小说中的成功运用。

Modernism Manifested in Mansfield's Bliss

Mansfield was an excellent novelist in the early 20th century, when the modernism became increasingly influential in the literary field. Influenced by the flourishing trend, Mansfield drew on many modernistic writing skills in her short-novel creation, and made an innovative contribution to the development and maturity of the modernistic short novel, which distinguishes itself from the traditional one in two major aspects： the theme and writing techniques. This article takes Bliss, the representative modernistic work of Mansfield, as the example, analyses carefully the successful use of modernism in the short novel.
