| 摘 要： | 歧义现象是任何自然语言无法避免的一种普遍现象 ,也是英语语言幽默的重要基础和首要特征。巧妙地利用歧义是产生幽默的常见手段。本文从语音 ,词汇、语法结构和语言交际等四个层面加以阐明歧义如何产生幽默效果。对歧义幽默的理解有助于我们更好地欣赏英语幽默 ,提高理解和运用英语语言的能力。

| Abstract: | Ambiguity is regarded as a natural phenomenon in languages and an important basis, primary feature and ingenious technique in English humor. The thesis dwells on how humor is created from four perspectives: phonological ambiguity, lexical and phrasal polysemy, grammatical structure ambiguity and verbal communication ambiguity. A good command of humor in ambiguity will enable us to comprehend and appreciate humor better and thus improve our English. |
