Phenomenology of Embodiment in Cyberspace--On the Relationship Between Technology & Embodiment

Introduces the arguments for embodiment and disembodiment in cyberspace in foreign academic circles. The phenomenology especially Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology of perception is regarded philosophically as the thought base and theoretical platform for the phenomenology of embodiment in cyberspace. It is revealed that the relationship between technology and embodiment is essentially an interdependent and interactive process, i.e., the embodiment is of the essence from which the technology is generated and developed and, in turn, the technology plays a role to correct or enhance the perceptual faculties of the body.
