Reform in general education curriculum in U.S.universities and its revelations

Abstract This paper reviews the historical course of the reform and development of general educa-tion curriculim in U.S.universities,and then investigates the purposes,measures and experiences ofthe very reform in U.S.A.during the 1970s and the 1980s.In view of the existing situations of the curriculum buildup in China's higher learning institutions,the author voices some opinions on the reformof general education curriculum in China's higher education curriculum integrated core course
