语言认知与"输入假说"

摘    要:"输入假说"认为,语言习得是一种下意识行为,过分强调语言输入的重要性,忽视了学习者的主体以及语言输出对语言习得的作用。对此,文章提出了不同的观点,并从语言认知的角度加以论述。笔者认为:在语言学习的认知过程中,语言认知与人的意识是不可分开的,语言的习得是学习者主体与环境客体相互作用的结果,是他们积极主动加工输入信息、建构意义的过程。文章指出:有输入未必一定就有输出。然而,我们也必须看到,输入假说中的某些观点对我国外语的教学仍具有积极的指导意义。

On "Input Hypothesis "from the Perspective of Language Cognition

Abstract:Krashen's Input Hypothesis claims that second language acquisition is at the subconscious level and that language input is the crucial factor that contributes to the acquisition of language. Therefore, it, to some extent, neglects learners' own efforts and the supreme importance of language output in the process of language learning. This paper aims to state a quite different view discussing the issues of the hypothesis from the perspective of language cognition. The author argues that the consciousness of human beings is closely associated with their language cognition in the process of their language learning, and that learners' successful acquisition of second language results from their active interactions with the objective learning environment, in other words, they acquire by processing the input and constructing a new structure in their mind through their own efforts. The paper also explains that sufficient input does not necessarily generate effective output in the process of language learning. Finally it discusses the implications of this hypothesis for the foreign language teaching in China.
