America after September 11: Interpretation of a Set of Polls
Abstract:The greatest impact of Sept.11 on America is the impact on the psychology of the American people. Concern and fear have dominated American minds. “Fear has once again become a powerful tool and motivator.” One of the results of “the Politics of Fear” is the American people were led into the war on Iraq. Another result is the quick passage of the PATRIOT Act and the deprivation and limitation of civil liberties and the suppression of dissent under the name of anti-terrorism. The change in American psychology and society is fundamental and far-reaching. Therefore, it is worth paying attention to and careful study.
