On the Balance between Input and Output in L2 Acquisition

S. Krashen's input hypothesis points out the importance of input to second language acquisition. However, it is generally accepted that effective language acquisition can be achieved on the condition that input and output should be equally valued and well balanced in an interactive situation. This article, focusing on the practice of college English teaching, analyses the causes of the problems in college English teaching and presents some possible ways to keep the balance of input and output.
