| Abstract: | This article offers a brief introduction to Webster's New World Dictionary (the third edition), a new member in the Webster's family. A lot of examples are borrowed to illustrate that the third edition not only inherits but also develops the two traditional features of the Webster's Dictionary, namely the presentation of rich etymological information and the marked American usage. Based on that, some new features in its form and content are also introduced in order to help the readers use this dictionary more effectively. |
