| Abstract: | Sequels to classic novels were popular in the literary circles during the Ming and Qing dynasties,which had much to do with the then operas on similar topics that tended to "subvert" what had been well established.Both the sequels and the subversiveness of traditional Chinese operas reflected the then readers' understanding and acceptance of the original works. |
