POPULAR FEATURES OF SCHISTOSOMIASIS IN THE DONGTING LAKE AREA FROM 1966 TO 1978

The prevalent factors of schistosomiasis in the Dongting Lake area is very complex, and the complexities is because of the inextricably link between regional production .residents living and regional environment among the Lakes areas. In the ab- sence of government-led Role, it is unimaginable to cut off the transmission of schistosomiasis, control the spread of the epidem- ic. The dominant role play to a certain degree of the Government with the prevalence of schistosomiasis is in direct proportion, it was obvious during the period of Cultural Revolution. The prevalence of schistosomiasis in the Dongting Lake area during the Cultural Revolution period in 1970 was treated as a watershed, the characteristic was far beyond the epidemiological significance, it reflected the value of sociology much more.
