美国社区学院的发展历程及其对我国的启示

美国社区学院已有 10 2年的发展历史 ,美国联邦、州及地方政府都非常重视社区学院的作用并鼓励其发展壮大 ,使得社区学院在过去 10 0多年中不仅生存下来 ,而且发展迅猛 ,迄今美国国内社区学院数量多达 115 5所 ,并且已经形成了其独有的五大功能定位和三个主要特征。美国社区学院的办学定位、丰富的管理经验和成功实践对我国高校办学、高等教育结构调整以及建立中国特色的社区学院都具有启发意义。

The Development of American Community Colleges & Its Enlightenment to China

American Community Colleges have a history of more than 102 years. All of the American Federal,State and Local Governments attach great importance to the unique role and stimulate the colleges to expand quickly. This beneficial policy made them not only survive in the past but also thrive at present. The colleges have formed five functions and three characteristics. Its enlightenment to China focuses on two aspects-one is the college-running orientation and rich management experience;the other is that its successful practice will help adjust China's higher education structure to building community colleges with Chinese characteristics.
