摘    要:米勒是西方绘画史上第一位取得伟大成就的农民画家,刘文西是当代中国以表现陕北农民和农村生活而著称的杰出画家,他们虽然相隔数万里,相距上百年,但都有很深的农民情结,都以农民、农村为自己绘画创作的主要表现对象,都把讴歌农民、礼赞劳动、发掘并表现劳动者的真善美作为自己绘画艺术的终生追求,也都取得了巨大成就。通过两人的绘画理念、表现手法、艺术成就及其蕴含的非常深厚的社会学意蕴的比较分析,以期给当代绘画艺术创作提供借鉴。

Abstract:Miller is the first farmer painter who achieved greatly in the history of West painting while Liu Wenxi is outstanding in contemporary China for his paintings of Shanbei farmers and the country life. In spite of the historical and geographic distance, the two painters both had great affections for farmers. They focused on the farmers and the countryside, aiming to eulogize the people, praise labor and digging into the true, the good and the beautiful of the laborers, and achieved greatly. This essay tries to compare the two painters in their concepts, methods and achievements, hopefully producing enlightenments for the contemporary art of painting.
