| Abstract: | Loneliness is the dominant mood in Edgar Allan Poe’s fiction,which is not only represented in the isolated living environment or the helpless state of Poe’s characters,but also embodied in the spiritual world of the main characters.Poe’s depiction of loneliness is greatly associated with his life experience and has profound social roots.Despite painfulness,loneliness,though painful,aesthetically remolds the author’s personality and elevates the artistic spirit,and arouses the universal concern in the readers. |
