On the Chinese Mode of Economic Development:Issues, Causes and Countermeasures

The transformation of economic development mode,a new issue in China′s practice,is concerned with institutions and production relationship and deserves a political economic exploration due to the nature of problem.Since the reform and opening-up,China′s economy displayed a rapid development and a structural imbalance at the same time at the heavy cost of environment,resources,safety and life.The situation posed a serious challenge to the mode of economic development,resulting in the un-sustainability of China′s mode.Government′s leading role in the economic activities is the root of the above contradicted feature of economic development.Therefore,transforming the economic development mode must be preceded by regulating the governmental behavior.To do so,the scientific positioning of the role of government in the market is needed and the execution of power by government must be supervised by the people.
