英国女王伊丽莎白一世执政前十年的外交政策,是利用西班牙和法国的均势独立自主地处理国内外事务,由于法国更具威胁性而注重与西班牙友好,但不过多陷入西班牙友谊,以便随时脱身.1752年4月19日,英法签订的<布鲁瓦条约>并不是英国传统政策的重大转变,而是其延续.它暂时实现了法国与西班牙间的势力均衡,并在法国为英国建立起防御西班牙入侵的屏障,它并没有使法国成为"永久的朋友",也没有使西班牙成为"永久的敌人",这就为英国随时摆脱该条约束缚提供了保证.

An Appraisal on the Treaty of Blois

On analysing the traditon of Elizabeth I's foreign policy,the process of bargaining and the contents of the Treaty of Blois,this paper concludes that the treaty is the continuation of Elizabethan foreign policy of balance and power,and is a successful example of the foreign policy of power in British history.
