| Abstract: | There is a long history of Macao's newspapers. The birth of Abelha da China in 1822 was the beginning of Macao's modern ne wspapers. This article analyzes the interior and exterior backgrounds when the f irst modern newspaper was born and its status in the history of Macao and Chines e newspapers. It also tries to conclude the general features of the Chinese and foreign language newspapers appearing in Macao. |
