论林纾的民族意识

近代福州三巨人的林纾与林则徐、严复,都是心系国家,深明民族大义的名家。五四时期,由于钱玄同和刘半农的双簧戏,将新青年同路人和先驱者变成了新文化运动的敌人。以致后来将他视为反对新文化运动的玩固的守旧派。这是严重的历史歪曲。其实无论他早年的维新主张,中年后大量翻译外国小说,还是晚年为传统文化辩护,都是秉承了华夏赤子保种爱国的民族意识和民族立场。精神脉络是统一的,而不是互相矛盾的。
