汉语之“象”英译难“原”探论

表意文字汉字在起源上是有别于西方表音文字的象形文字，说它是以象征义应该有着不容置疑的本源性依据。因此，构成汉诗的象形文字在转化变异为英语的表音文字时汉字本身的语形视象必然会被消形匿迹。此一点在译界尽管已有讨论，但笔者认为已有的讨论要么不够切近要害，要么小而化之。因此有必要换个新的角度加以审视．以期为译学多备一份参考。

Reflections on the Difficult Translatability of the Imagery of Chinese Characters into English Words

Chinese characters are ideographs which are primordially different from the Western phonetic words. In virtue that the primordial difference between Chinese and the Western languages such as English the physical imagery upon the Chinese characters in Chinese poetry will be lost through the process of sino-English translation. Because what has been talked about it either far from the essentials or towards belittling . Therefore, what the writer discusses about the problem from a new perspective is expected to contribute to translation studies.
