| Abstract: | Buddhism has had great influence on Japanese literature since it was introduced to Japan. The mode of thinking, the surpassing over the existing spirit found in the legendary literature in the peaceful period, the perfection of moral quality and the artistic construction of works are all affected by Buddhism. |
