张之洞与晚清师范教育

张之洞一生大力发展师范教育,创办了几十所师范学堂,在他的努力下,独立、完整的师范教育体系得以确立。在兴办师范教育的实践中,他提出师范教育的目的在于培养德智体全面发展的优秀人才。同时,他倡导的大力加强师资队伍建设,大胆革新教学内容和方法,也有力地促进了师范教育的发展。

Through his whole life,Zhang Zhidong dedicated himself to the development of teacher-training, and established scores of teachers colleges. By his effort, an independent and integrated system of teacher-training was established. In the practice of developing teacher-training, Zhang put forward that the aim of teacher-training was to foster all-rounds in morality, intellect and physics.
