论左宗棠农业思想的特色

左宗棠是一位经世致用的近代政治家,对于关系国计民生的农业问题极为重视。早年的农村生活实践和以后长期的军政生涯,使他对农业有比较深刻的认识和独到的见解,历经数十年的积累,形成了颇具特色的农业思想。可大体概括为四个方面:(1)劝民务本,经世致用;(2)务本强国,抵御外侮;(3)崇古而不泥古,重农而不抑商;(4)利民而不厉民,兴农而不伤农。

On Characteristics of Zuo Zongtang''s Thought of Agriculture

Zuo Zongtang was a modern politician for learning with a view to its application,attaching great importance to agriculture that was closely related to national economy and people's livelihood.The village practices of his early years and a long time later of military administration career,made him have a deep cognition to agriculture with specific views,which later,became his characteristic thought of agriculture.It have four main aspects:First,induce and encourage people into farming,knowledge and theory blent into application;second,attend to fundamentals for a strong country to resist against foreign aggression;Third,admire thou but not mire thou,boost agriculture but do not suppress commerce;Fourth,benefit people but not be fierce to them,love peasants but do not harm them.
