The love legend of Xiangfei and Yushun is the earliest love story in China,which is reflected in the six literary collections such as the "Book of History" (尚书),"the Classic of Mountains and Rivers" (山海经),"The Mencius" (孟子),"Songs of the South" (楚辞)," Historical Records" (史记),"Legend of Virtuous Ladies" (列女传). In the "Legend of Virtuous Ladies" ,which consists of 105 biographies and is compiled in the Western Han Dynasty,their love story is listed in the first place and known as " the first two concubines". In history,it happens and is compiled previous to other biographies. In the earliest records,stories about Xiang Fei(湘妃) contain complex and multi-layered plots,where love is reflected,and they are known as positive models between genders. Therefore,they have the authority in the history of Chinese culture.
