| 摘 要： | 英汉民族处在不同的文化语境中，由于不同的地理环境，生活风俗习惯，宗教文化信仰，思维模式和历史背景，两种文化间出现种种差异?词语的联想意义各异，或者联想意义为一方文化所特有，而在另一文化语境中则空缺。本文就此探讨字面和形象意义以外的隐含意义。

| Abstract: | The English and Chinese nations are d ifferent in their cultural contexts.Because of the different geographi cal habits and customs,religious beliefs,thi nking -ways,and historic background,differences arise between the two cul-tures:different associations of me anings of words;associations that belong to one cult ure,but do not exist in anoth-er.This paper discusses the implied meanings outside the literal ones. |
