目的论视角下《三国演义》罗慕士英译本翻译策略研究

目的论认为译者的整个翻译过程,包括翻译策略的选择,都是由翻译行为所要达到的目的所决定的。作为中国古代四大名著之一,《三国演义》有着极高的艺术成就,近年来也越来越受到国际社会的关注。根据翻译目的的不同,罗慕士在其《三国演义》英译本中采取了不同的翻译策略,主要为异化翻译、归化翻译、文后注释等,以满足不同读者的需求,其译作也被认为是翻译作品中的典范。

The study of the translation strategies in Three Kingdoms translated by Moss Roberts from the perspective of the skopos theory

According to the skopos theory, the whole process of translation, including the choice of the translation strategies, is determined by the purpose of the translation activity. Due to the different purposes of his translation, Moss Roberts has adopted dif- ferent translation strategies in his translation process, such as foreignization, domestication, and the adding of plenty of notes. The version can meet the needs of different readers and is generally regarded as a great success.
