This article,based on the theoretical framework of the governance and good governance,gives an explicit analysis of the roles of the Chinese charitable sectors in the process of building a more balanced and harmonious society.At the present time,the activities of the charitable sectors lie in the following areas: firstly,propagating the ideas of justice and charity;secondly,carrying out a lot of great causes of public welfare;thirdly,participating in governmental and political affairs to advance the growth of a civil society;lastly,making constructive supervision and criticism on the authorities.In the context of the growing globalization,the Chinese charitable sectors will play greater roles in dealing with more serious social problems.
