赛珍珠等欧美人的看法对文学经典观的启示——中外文学经典标准的实际差异与对策纵横谈

中外学术界在文学经典观上看似达成了统一,但其实二者之间还存在实际操作层面的诸多差异.比较赛珍珠等欧美人与中国某些学者对文学的识见,可以看出中外在古典文学与现当代文学经典衡量上的差异,也可看出中国学者执行的文学经典标准普遍偏高,中外在文学经典标准实际操作层面有较大的差异.文学研究者应适当降低标准,进行文学经典扩容,将经典分类分得更细一些,适当宽容地对待文学作品的缺憾,同时文学经典也可走民族文化型的道路.

Apocalypse from Pearl S.Buck and Others＇ Views of Literary Canon ——The disparity between Chinese and Foreign Standards of Literary Canon and Counter-measures

Chinese and foreign academic circles seem to have agreed on literary canon, but disparity does exist between them, especially when literary works are actually judged. A comparison of Pearl S. Buck and others＇ viewpoints on literary canon with those of Chinese scholars indicates that Chinese literary critics set relatively higher standards to classify literary canon of classical literature and mo- dern and contemporary literature. So it is suggested that Chinese scholars lower the standards to ex- pand literary canon, make the classification finer and be more tolerant of the imperfections. Literary canon can feature national culture.
