Pioneer and main body: the poor peasant in the eyes of Mao Zedong

In the process of leading Chinese revolution and socialist construction,Mao Zedong has had a firm belief in the role of the peasant and advocated reliance on the peasant.Yet,it was the poor peasant that caught his most attention.In the period of revolutionary war,the poor peasant were the pioneer and main force of revolution;and after the founding of the PRC,they were the leading characters in political stage.This understanding by Mao Zedong brought about both the victory of new-democratic revolution and a profound influence on the following socialist construction.History proves that a correct understanding of the main body of the peasant is the precondition of understanding the peasant in China.
