Reconsideration of the Nature of Private International Law

Many scholars have commented the Private International Law as neither ＂international＂ nor ＂private＂.This kind of understanding has been for a long time a typical and influential opinion on Private International Law.The author of this thesis reckons it necessary and important for today＇s scholars to review this kind of understanding.This can provide us with a profound reflection on our opinion of Private International Law,and help us correctly grasp its true nature.The author contends that the Private International Law has gone beyond the traditional legal rule classification of being ＂public＂ or ＂private＂,＂international＂ or ＂national＂,and ＂substantial＂ or ＂procedural＂.Instead,it stands independently as one category of legal rule that possesses its own exclusive and special characteristics.
