| 摘 要： | 运用存在主义的＂自欺＂和＂自由＂等理论,联系《小城畸人》中作者对于＂真理＂与＂畸人＂的态度,分析畸人形成的两个阶段：从＂自欺＂到＂自抑＂;通过俄亥俄州温士堡小城的象征意义和主人公乔治.威拉德的最后离去,指出乔治的离开预示了一个新的畸人的形成。该小说集所揭示的主题具有普遍意义。

| Abstract: | In respect to the novelist＇s attitude to ＂truth＂ and ＂grotesque＂ in Winesburg,Ohio,this paper employs the Existentialist theory of self-deceit and freedom to analyze the two phases of becoming a grotesque： ＂self-deceit＂ and ＂self-oppression＂.By analyzing the symbolic meaning of Winesburg and the departure of George Willard,it points that George＇s departure means that another grotesque has shaped.The theme of the novel has a common significance： if a man wants to exist,he should break outmoded conventions,open his heart and contact with others. |
