Lend an Attentive Ear to Nature:On the Ecological Esthetics of the 20th Century's Countryside Novel

The issue of ecology,as a protruding globe-wide issue in the 21st century,is challenging the whole mankind.In recent years,there has appeared a new esthetic theory,an ecological esthetics pursuing harmony and unity between man and nature.As a newly developed subject,it concerns itself about two problems: 1) to contemplate the situation of human life in the perspective of philosophical aesthetics;2) to explore man's living environment in terms of natural aesthetics.Eco-aesthetically speaking,the writing of the 20th century's countryside novel can not only expand the sphere of its studies,but also allow these studies to concern the ultimate significance of human life with an open eye.
