《新唐书·志》的两则错误及致误原因

在《新唐书》的《志》中,唐玄宗夏季幸骊山为杨贵妃庆生辰和唐朝全国共有26座关的说法,都不符合历史实际。前者误信了唐人小说、诗歌的说法,而未考察唐玄宗幸骊山的具体时间;后者把一个阶段设置官吏的关津的统计数字误作整个唐代恒长不变的数字。其实,《新唐书》的作者修志时,只要与该书其他相关记载统筹对勘,即可避免这两则错误。

Reason for Two Mistakes in the Zhi Documents of A New Book of Tang's History

In the Zhi documents of A New Book of Tang's History,there are two statements which are not accord with the historical truth.One is that Emperor Tangxuanzong once celebrated the birthday of his wife,Yangguifei,in Lishan mountain in summer.Another is that there are total 26 passes over Tang's land.The former mistake lies in wrong believing the narration of Tang's fiction and poem,and has not investigated the concrete time of his experience in Lishan mountain.The latter one lies in regarding the statistic of those passes that had been established official to administrate at a special stage as the total number that not changed during the whole Tang times.In fact,he would have avoided these mistakes if he had compared the two records with some other contents of A New Book of Tang's History when Ouyang Xiu compiled the Zhi documents.
