感觉句子的意义三分说与翻译的限度

从语言哲学的角度看,翻译主要是意义的转换,翻译观和意义观之间一般存在着正相关的关系。感觉句子具有句子意义、说话人意义和现象意义:句子意义是可以充分翻译的,说话人意义通常也是可以传达的,但可能因为原作者双重的说话人意义而给译者带来麻烦,现象意义可能导致弱式不可译,但并非所有感觉句子因此而不可译。

A Tripartite Taxonomy of ES Meanings and the Limits of Translation

From the perspective of the analytic philosophy of language,the present paper holds that translation is primarily concerned with the transfer of meaning,and that one's theory of meaning is often closely correlated with one's theory of translation.The paper mainly deals with the translation of experiential sentences(ES),the semantic content of which includes sentence meaning,speaker's meaning and phenomenal meaning.Generally,sentence meaning is readily translatable,speaker's meaning can be sufficiently conveyed though it may cause trouble for the translator when the writer/speaker intends to convey two meanings with one word,while phenomenal meaning may,though not necessarily,lead to weak untranslatability.
