Analysis on Restrictions of Context to Meanings

Context cannot be ignored in the process of language communication, which restricts the selection and comprehension of language meaning. This article analyses the definition of context, the relationship between context and meaning and the influences of context on meaning. The author puts forward the English teachers should pay more attention to context teaching and increase the connection of English language and real life so as to improve the students' ability of practical language use.
